John Stephen

When John Stephen Castleman was born on 5 January 1766, in Frederick, Virginia, British Colonial America, his father, Johann David Castleman, was 32 and his mother, Margaret Johnson, was 31. He married Sarah Shepherd on 28 November 1785, in Virginia, United States. They were the parents of at least 5 sons and 5 daughters. He died on 22 January 1840, in Frederick, Virginia, United States, at the age of 74. We learn from his will that they lived at "Aldridge" farm, 223 acres "adjoining the land of Dr. Samuel Taylor & Edward McCormick & George McCormick and Mr Homer".  There is also a plantation on "Morgan Marsh" of 272+ acres that should be sold if it hasn't been by his death, and the proceeds divided equally.
